We will look at five characteristics of "saints" and of their sanctification.
Notice in these verses how the word "sanctifies" is used in connection with the words "purifying" and "purge". Jesus made our sanctification possible by offering his own blood as our High Priest who mediated the new covenant 1Peter , Hebrews , Hebrews There is one salient and simple fact you can believe and understand regarding what it means to be sanctified: "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1John Our blessing of sanctification is immediate, full, and ever present.
The saint sanctified person has a "spiritual duty of worship" to present his or her body as "a living and holy sacrifice, well-pleasing to God Because "the earth and its works will be burned up" the saint lives in "holy conduct" as if already living in the new world where righteousness dwells 2Peter The saint has an inheritance Ephesians , We read before that we must render our bodies "a living and holy sacrifice" Romans The saints are called "fellow citizens". They "put on love, the perfect bond" of unity Ephesians Colossians People who fight, hinder, slander, avoid and abandon each other are not saints.
The "mystery which has been hidden from past generations and ages, has now been manifested to his saints, to whom God willed to make known" his revelation. I see that you DO have the gift of exhortation just by your comments. That is so much needed in the church and it is exhorting others to more good works. As for giving that is something like being a cheerful giver and giving a tithe for example to the church or helping the poor but also giving of your time, talents and not just your treasure.
For mercy, this is so important too…it is being a forgiving person and extending mercy to those who have sinned like we all have , to those who have hurt you forgiving them and for showing tenderness when others have made big mistakes like an abortion.
Prophecy is actually teaching and not predicting the future like most people assume. What you have learned is easily able to be taught to others, for example, you could be a great help to new Christians which is why you scored high on teaching too. And a 9 on service shows me that you will be a great help to the church…washing dishes in the church kitchen, setting up chairs, etc. This is a thankless job but so important.
Overall, you are a merciful, gifted teacher that can exhort others to more service and very giving of yourself. I wish I had you in my church! These are all so important to the church today and you will be a great asset anywhere you go. More to clarify about prophecy: Certainly, in my mind, the most disturbing aspect of the Charismatic movement and their thirst for supernatural experience and supernatural encounter is their claim that God is still revealing Himself verbally to them.

It has been a curiosity to me and should be to us, I think, that if God is still giving revelation, the only ones that He gives it to are Charismatics. Nobody else seems to be getting revelation with the exception of the founders of various cults. Christ has put His stamp of authority on the Scripture. To add anything to Scripture or to downplay the singular, unique, inspiration of Scripture, then is to not only go against the Word of God and the warning of Scripture and the teaching of Christ and the Apostles, but it is to bring yourself into the very dangerous place where you are susceptible to the curse of God.
And, of course, what happens when you introduce something as true is you open up a spiritual free-for-all, unintentionally perhaps.
There has arisen recently a very interesting group that is sort of leading the prophetic parade, if we can call it that, and they come from Kansas City. They are self-proclaimed prophets in Kansas City and they serve as a good example of how far prophetic abuses can go. They are very popular.
I was shocked, absolutely shocked, to find out within the last week, that one of their leaders is speaking in Westminster Church, the Church of G. That is the level to which they have ascended, these Kansas City Prophets. Similar prophecies were delivered in and around Kansas City and other churches and incredibly, one church at least, actually responded by dropping its ties with the Assemblies of God and aligning with the Kansas City Fellowship. But it has more in common with the methodology of cults than it does with the work of the Holy Spirit.
Interestingly, the Kansas City Prophets admit that they have prophesied falsely on occasion — they admit it. They specialize, they say, in predictive prophecy. They foretold, for example, that a nationwide revival would sweep across England in June of , one year ago. Hundreds of thousands were going to turn to Christ and the movement would then spread to the entire European continent. Like many of their predictions, the revival never materialized. They should have been stoned to death if living in the Old Testamen period. Never expected you to reply so quickly, and at length as you did!

Thank you! The Holy Spirit indeed speaks thru your writing, Pastor, for I now understand completely. Received a prayer request for Israel from my cousin earlier today.
Clicked on their site and read the article. At the end there were comments, and of course, I wrote from my heart. Have to admit, I was overwhelmed by all the negative feedback from my comment. Perhaps I came on too strong? Was I incorrect in this statement? One guy even said that God was an angry man who hated people! Just trying to get thru the anger to 4 of the comments was a toughie for me. Calvary Greetings, Yes the name is a Zulu name. And its the Republic of South Africa.
